Epimax Paraffin-Free Ointment 500g
Epimax Paraffin-Free Ointment is an emollient, bath additive and soap substitute for the relief of dry skin in eczema, psoriasis and other dry skin conditions. It rubs easily into the skin, leaving a protective barrier that seals water into the skin, leaving it feeling plump, soft and moist. Its main ingredient is plant derived hydrogenated Castor Oil and there are no preservatives, fragrances, paraffins or parffin derivatives or any ingredients derived from animals; in fact it is so gentle it can be used for adults and children of all ages, including babies.
Epimax Paraffin-Free Ointment is particularly suitable for people with very dry skin such as those requiring ointment for night use, elderly patients requiring large amounts of ointment and those needing an ointment for use under wet wrapping. As it is 100% paraffin free, it is also ideal for patients who smoke and those using Medical Oxygen Therapy as there is not the fire risk associated with paraffin based preparations.
Directions:
As an emollient on the skin
Apply Epimax Paraffin-Free Ointment to the affected skin area and smooth gently onto the skin in the direction of the hair growth
As a skin cleanser/soap substitute
Scoop a small amount from the tub, lather under warm water and then use as you would for a normal soap.
In the bath as a bath additive
To use in the bath, take 4g from the tub. Melt this in a tumbler of hot water, ensuring it has cooled sufficiently before adding to the bath. Do not apply hot water directly to the skin. When using Epimax Paraffin-Free Ointment as a bath additive, care should be taken, as it will make the surface of the bath slippery.
