Carmellose Lubricant Eye Drops
Carmellose is used for symptoms of dry eyes. This lubricant ophthalmic solution has wetting and protective properties which provide relief to the eye in case of irritation, burning and foreign body sensation caused by a reduction in the tear film.
The tear film weakness results from environmental factors such as wind, sun, dry air, saltwater, smoke, intense light conditions, prolonged computer use, ophthalmic surgery,conjunctivitisor frequent and prolonged use of contact lenses.
This product is not normally intended for use for more than 30 days; if the symptoms persist consult your doctor.
How to use
1-2 drops in the eyes up to several times daily as required
Ingredients:
Carmellse sodium, lactic acid, sodium hydroxide, sodium chloride, potassium chloride, calcium chloride, sodium edetate, cetrimde (preservative), water.
Precautions and warnings:
- Do not use if the container is damaged
- Do not use if you are sensitive to any of the components of the product
- Slight irritation of the eye, stinging and redness may occasionally occur during use. In most cases, this disappears after a few minutes.
- After administration, in rare cases, a slight temporary blurring of vision may be observed due to the viscosity of the solution. It is therefore advisable to wait for a few seconds before any activity that requires clear vision.
- Do not use after the expiry date shown on the carton and container
- Do not touch the eye with the tip of the container
- Wait at least 10-15 minutes before instilling any other ophthalmic drug
- After first opening the bottle, use the product within 30 days
- Keep out of the sight and reach of children
- Do not swallow
- If you wear soft contact lenses, remove them before applying the product and do not replace the lenses for at least 15 minutes
