Multi-Thick by Abbott Nutrition is a modified maize starch instant food and fluid thickener , approved for the dietary management of patients with dysphagia.

Multi-Thick is available in a 250g can which can be resealed.
A 250g Multi-Thick tin contains approximately 90 scoops (each level-scoop is 2.7g)
Multi-Thick thicken up powder can be mixed into a wide range of both foods and fluids , such as warm and cold drinks , pureed food and oral nutritional supplements.
Uses
Food for Special Medical Purposes, for use under medical supervision. For oral use as a food and fluid thickener.
Precautions

- Multi-thick is intended for use as a food and fluid thickener only and is not intended to contribute significantly to nutritional intake.
Contra-Indications
- Not for parenteral (intravenous) use.
- Do not use in children under 1 year of age except in cases of failure to thrive.
Storage
- Store unopened at room temperature.
- Opened tins should be resealed using the lid provided and stored in a cool, dry place (not in the refrigerator).
- Use within 6 weeks of opening.
- If not used promptly after mixing with liquids or food, cover, refrigerate and use within 24 hours.
Directions for Use
- Use the enclosed scoop to add the required amount of thickener.
- Multi-thick may be mixed directly into prepared foods such as cold and warm drinks, pure?ed foods, mashed potatoes or sip feeds (oral nutritional supplements).
- For best results, sprinkle the desired amount of powder onto the food or drink and stir briskly with a fork or whisk until fully mixed.
- For thickening sip feeds (oral nutritional supplements) use a whisk or shaker to mix and allow to stand for 5 minutes before use.
